Attard & Co. Foodstuffs Limited are hosting monthly wine tasting sessions at Del Borgo Wine Bar. These sessions are intended and designed for those who are keen to discover the world of flavours and aromas and sample some of the world's finest wines.
This month's session featured Simonsig wines, one of South Africa's leading winemakers since 1953. The Malan family of Simonsig is a founder member of the world renowned Stellenbosch Wine Route and is an award winner of various competitions around the globe. The estate is situated in the foothills of the Simonsberg Mountain in Stellenbosch.
Wine enthusiasts were welcomed with the famous "Kaapse Vonkel" sparkling wine, South Africa's first bottle-fermented Cap Classique, followed by a selection of some of Simonsig's best red and white wines.
The outstanding characteristics of Pinotage, Cabernet Sauvignon~Shiraz, Shiraz and Merindol~Syrah are perfect to accompany tomato based pasta and full flavoured meat. To complement the warm weather, wine lovers could also enjoy sipping a glass of chilled Chenin Blanc or Gewürztraminer.
A variety of mouthwatering appetizers paired well with the selected wines.
Del Borgo Wine Bar is also an enoteca, offering clients the possibility to purchase wine by the bottle after tasting.
