Attard & Co. (Foodstuffs) Ltd, in collaboration with Bakels and Golden Harvest, has launched a new line of bread with a difference. The Country Oven Low GI multi-seed brown bread is a delicious combination of pumpkin, linseed and sunflower seeds, combined with wheat bran and oat flakes, which means it’s super healthy. The new product was presented at Attard & Co. (Foodstuffs) Ltd’s premises during an informative and entertaining session. World-renowned nutrition professor Christiani Jeya Henry explained the concept behind low Glycaemic Index (GI) and its contribution to health and well-being. Low GI foods contain carbohydrates that break down slowly and therefore release glucose into the blood stream gradually. The result is a carbohydrate with long lasting energy levels, leaving the consumer feeling full for longer, with no additional calories. It is ideal for diabetics, diabetic prevention, those fighting obesity and generally those who care for their health.
