‘Divine Creazione’ was the name of a gastronomic evening hosted by Attard & Co. Foodstuffs Ltd., representatives of Surgital, one of Italy’s leading pasta company.
Surgital produce deep-frozen fresh pasta and sauces for quality restaurant cooking and catering, as well as ready to cook deep-frozen dishes for the bar and snack outlets. This culinary event was held at Villa Arrigo on Monday 20th April 2009.
Restaurateurs, chefs and food journalists had the opportunity to taste the exquisite food that Chef Riccardo Vecchi and his daughter prepared.
At first guests were served ‘Fiocchi with cheese and pear’ accompanied by a spumante. As Chef Vecchi gave a detailed demonstration & explained how the products are prepared at Surgital, tasty dishes started coming out.
‘Pasta ripieni’ with spinach and ricotta or funghi porcini, different cut pasta such as ‘Garganelli’, ‘Riminesi’ and ‘Tagliatelli’ served with different Surgital sauces, depending on the type of dish. Baked pasta followed, ‘Canelloni’ with spinach and ricotta served with pesto sauce.
Towards the end of the tasting session guests were served with a selection of finger food pasta. ‘Balanzone al parmiggiano’ with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar, ‘Panciotti with scallops and North Sea prawns’, ‘Quadrelli with Chianina beef and King Oyster mushrooms’ with mushrooms and parmiggiano cheese and ‘Cacao and orange zest quadrelli’ with a wine and orange reduction.
